The Borgen Group shall, as purchasers of raw forestry material and producers of poles and veneer log products, strive to run their operations in a manner that is benign as possible, both for the environment and for the employees.
We achieve this by:
Fulfilling applicable legislation and following the PEFC’s requirements and intentions as regards forestry raw materials.

- Ensuring that, as far as possible, purchased raw materials do not come from forests that are under legal protection in the relevant country or from key biotopes that are protected from logging according to the PEFC’s key biotopes policy, or equivalent, in the relevant country.
- Carrying out operations and improvements so that any negative environmental effect is reduced.
- Fulfilling the quality requirements and environmental standard for those businesses that are certified according to ISO 9001-2000 and ISO 14001-2004.
- Striving to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide by transporting raw materials and finished products by rail or boat whenever possible.
- Striving to sort and reuse our residual products as much as possible.
- Educating and informing staff so that they can fulfil the contents of this policy.
